Know where your security actually stands

Evidence-based assessment of how well your security actually holds up.

A cybersecurity and information security assessment gives you an independent, evidence-based view of how your controls are designed and whether they operate as intended — across governance, infrastructure, applications and people. We test against recognised frameworks and give you findings you can act on, not a generic checklist.

Cybersecurity assessment team reviewing security monitoring in a modern office

Who this is for

Built for the people who answer for it.

CISOs & security leaders

Who need an independent second opinion on control effectiveness before the board, a regulator or a customer asks.

Fast-growing technology firms

Scaling faster than their security program and needing to find the gaps before attackers or auditors do.

Organisations facing customer assurance

Being asked by enterprise clients to evidence their security posture through a structured, independent review.

Business risks addressed

What this assessment helps you find.

  • Controls that exist on paper but do not operate effectively in practice.
  • Unseen exposure across cloud, endpoints, identity and network layers.
  • Security governance that has not kept pace with the business or its threats.
  • Misconfigurations and drift that accumulate silently between point-in-time checks.
  • Inability to demonstrate security posture to customers, partners or insurers.

Assessment objectives

What the engagement evaluates.

  • Evaluate the design and operating effectiveness of key security controls.
  • Benchmark your posture against a recognised framework (ISO 27001, NIST CSF).
  • Identify and prioritise exploitable gaps and governance weaknesses.
  • Validate that policy, process and technical configuration are aligned.
  • Produce a risk-rated, actionable remediation roadmap.

Scope & control areas

What we review.

Security governance

  • Policies, standards and ownership
  • Roles, accountability and reporting lines
  • Risk management and exception handling
  • Security awareness and training

Technical controls

  • Identity and access management
  • Network and infrastructure security
  • Endpoint and email security
  • Logging, monitoring and detection

Operational controls

  • Vulnerability and patch management
  • Change and configuration management
  • Incident response readiness
  • Backup and recovery

Audit criteria & frameworks

We confirm the applicable standards and editions during scoping. Framework names are used to describe audit criteria and do not imply accredited certification authority.

Our approach

A practical, evidence-based method.

1

Understand context

Map your business, technology stack, regulatory drivers and threat landscape so the assessment is grounded in your reality.

2

Scope & plan

Agree the control domains, systems and evidence in scope, and confirm an assessment plan and timeline with you.

3

Assess controls

Review design through documentation and interviews, and test operating effectiveness through evidence and sampling.

4

Validate & corroborate

Corroborate claims against configuration, logs and artefacts — we verify, we do not take assertions at face value.

5

Rate & report

Risk-rate findings, document observations and evidence references, and deliver a prioritised remediation roadmap.

6

Follow up

Optionally re-test remediated items and support your team as fixes are rolled out.

Evidence & client prerequisites

What we typically ask for.

Indicative only — the exact evidence depends on scope. Not every engagement requires every item.

  • Security policies, standards and procedures
  • Network and system architecture documentation
  • Identity and access configuration exports
  • Vulnerability scan and patch status reports
  • Logging, monitoring and incident records (samples)
  • Relevant prior assessment or audit reports

Deliverables

What you receive.

We only promise deliverables appropriate to this service and the agreed scope.

  • Assessment scope and plan
  • Control-by-control evaluation
  • Risk-rated findings and observations
  • Evidence references for each finding
  • Gap analysis against the chosen framework
  • Prioritised remediation roadmap
  • Management summary for leadership and the board

Engagement options

Engage the way that fits.

One-time assessment

A point-in-time review against a defined scope and framework.

Readiness assessment

Targeted at preparing for a specific certification, customer or regulatory requirement.

Periodic review

Recurring assessments that track posture and remediation over time.

Continuous assurance

Ongoing control monitoring between formal reviews — see Continuous Assurance.

Independence & scope of this service

This is an independent assessment and advisory engagement. It is not a penetration test in itself (we coordinate specialist VAPT where needed), and it is not an accredited certification or a statutory audit. Where Srida IT has implemented controls for you, the assessment is performed by a separate team to preserve independence.

Frequently asked questions

Practical answers.

No. This is a controls and posture assessment. It can include coordinating a specialist penetration test (VAPT) within scope, but the two are distinct engagements with different objectives.
Most commonly ISO/IEC 27001 or NIST CSF, mapped to PCI DSS or other requirements where relevant. We confirm the right lens with you during scoping.
No. We produce an independent assessment report with findings and recommendations. Accredited certification is issued only by an accredited certification body.
A focused assessment is typically a few weeks depending on scope, number of systems and evidence availability. We confirm a timeline during scoping.
